Their current desktop "tower", the mac pro is actually oddly far behind. Options: Even if you get a laptop, or a prebuilt desktop, if you go with a mac you better like what they offer.
Why dont people use macs for gaming windows#
And you you get a mac and run windows on it, there are windows laptops with similar specs and build quality for a little less. Games: My game library would be cut down by about 78%.

The majority of people I know who built their computers are just unimpressed by macs because they can't do much to the hardware. There is no current mac you can do this on. Over the years every last component has been upgraded. I have a home built computer, and while the case is the same, none of the internals are the same. Upgrades: For laptops, this doesn't matter. Price: Apple makes premium, but premium can be had from many companies, for perhaps a little less at that. Of course none of that is to say Windows machines are bad computers, but I am a little confused as to where this animosity comes from. I’d say the build quality, OS and the retina screen make it way more than a “pretty face” as some people claim. And unless you’re looking to be a power gamer (which Macs are admittedly not good for) the specs are very capable. So why so much hate? I keep hearing about how expensive they are, but most Windows “ultrabooks” seem to be almost as expensive if not more so.

If anything most of the pithy, condescending commentary I read comes from “PC Master Race” types who just can’t STAND that someone in a photo has a Macbook sitting next to them. Lastly I find the idea that Mac users are snobby or “holier than thou” to be kind of a misnomer, considering I rarely see that kind of behavior. I also like that my Mac is much less likely to pick up viruses or spyware (although I understand it is still possible).

The build of the laptop itself is phenomenal, Retina is crystal clear and OS is (personally) a lot easier to use…the way everything operates within the environment makes more sense to me, especially installing and uninstalling programs, and the aesthetics are of course more pleasing to the eye. Recently I threw down $700 for a used Macbook pro (2014 model with extended Apple care) and I’ve been extremely happy with it. I’ve been a Windows user my entire life, mainly because I’ve always used whatever computer was provided by my parents or my work, but I’ve been wanting to own a Mac for some time now.
